Vonage line is active without me on it!

Does Vonage make update calls? Sometimes I'll be looking at the Vonage status light on top of the ATA and notice the red light is on without me on the phone. I only have it hooked up to one telephone and am the only one in the house.

I go to pickup the phone and it says its IN USE When I pick it up there's a prerecorded message stating, "We're sorry we're unable to Complete your call."

I have a wireless linksys router. Do you think its possible for someone to tap into my router and use my Vonage phone?? Or is this just charterisctic of the Vonage network?

And, no hopefully I'm not going crazy!

I haven't seen that on our connection. Our ATA certainly connects to Vonage TFTP server every couple of minutes but certainly no off-hook/in-use connections!

I would guess (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) that your wireless connection has nothing to do with your issue. The off-hook/in-use problem will be accessed via the RJ-11 POTS connection not the RJ-45 ethernet connection.

I have 2 secured (128bit) wireless access points but I have not seen this before.

Anyone else seen this problem?

Just wanted to update my strange problem here. First, let me preface this by saying my Vonage phone is hooked up to one and only one cordless 900Mhz phone.

I went to make a call and within about 5 seconds of my call completing, I heard dialing on my extension. The dialing was NOT me. Is it possible that someone is using my cordless phone and accessing my phone line? I find this hard to believe only because I thought the 900Mhz frequency phones were encrypted.

Does this sound feasible to anyone??

I looked on my phone to change channels but couldn't find any way to do it..

Go look in DashBoard at your call detail. Do you see calls that you did not place yourself?

FYI: DashBoard updates within seconds of a call ending. So hit refresh if you must.
