Post subject: Making primary line to basic while waiting for # transfer
I signed up for the service on 8/8 and submitted number transfer request online on 8/9.
Vonage
web site says the request is sent to AT&T (my current landline service provider @ NJ) on 8/10. I could see the transfer taking different time ( from couple of days to months!!) for different people.
Some users have recommended to reduce the features to "basic" on the main # to be transferred to avoid paying more for the (less used) primary # (which makes sense). But I saw
Vonage
(# transfer) suggesting not to make new orders with the other carrier to avoid # transfer delays.
Please share your experience on this.

Post subject: Still waiting
I am currently waiting for my number to transfer from Verizon and what I ended up doing was set up call forwarding from my Verizon number to my virtual number on
Vonage
so that I at least get to use some of the features of
Vonage
. Other than that still waiting for my number to port.
