Post subject: Automatic Adapter Reset When Internet Connection is Lost.
How many times have you thought that your
Vonage
phone service was fine when all the while it was not working at all because the internet connection was lost and the adapter need to be manually reset??? I hate this!!! Their should at least be an audible notification that let's you know that your box is not receiving an internet connection and/or needs to be reset. I mean calls can be missed for hours before you know anything about it even with the calls being forwarded to another number when the adapter's down (who really knows how much time lapses before the calls are transfered to the assigned number?).
This feature is very much needed on the next model of boxes that will be issued. What do y'all think????

I agree I have had
Vonage
for a few months but anytime the electric in my neighborhood flashes off for a second my
Vonage
phone service goes down and I do not know it.
It can be down for hours before I know it.
I have to unplug my cable modem and router from the outlet to reset it.
I am thinking about buying a UPS just for the router and cable modem.

I added UPS just for cable modem, router, and
Vonage
adapter. Works well, even through Tennessee thunderstorms. Estimate 6-7 hours blackout protection, which can be extended if power down to save battery if a longer loss of power. Also takes the system a step closer to "lifeline" capability, as cable company here also has emergency power backup.
