They are still shipping the 3000's and have not reverted back to the 31P2's as far as I know..

Well I was told they stopped shipping 300's because they were having problems upgrading the firmware.

According to VCS (tier 3) there is a known systemic issue with the RTP300's and compatability with certain phones (like Panasonic). I have two Panasonic phones (one from the early 80's), (one just a couple of years old) and while I don't hear and echo from my end, people that call me, or when I call my wife at home while I am at work can hear a serious echo. Sure, you could blame Panasonic or bandwidth but the problem does not seem to exist with a POTS line or a non Panasonic phone. I'm not sure what I'll do - get a new router or get new phones but in either case I need to do something to stop driving the people that are on the other end nuts when they hear their own voice repeated.

The inside scoop:

Vonage is shipping the RT31p2

A storm just friend my RT31P2 and they sent me a RTP300 to replace it free of charge. I received it today.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I initially had a RT31P2 that died after one day, but didn't have anyone complain about echo problems on their end when it actually worked. I got a RTP300 as a replacement and have had echo problems with a client that I call quite a bit. The only problem is that this happens with Panasonic and non-Panasonic phones, so I don't know if this situation applies to me at all...

If I was smart, I would send this stuff back and stick with Verizon... Sad

Well...that explains why my new panasonic phones were echoing so bad Embarassed I ended up taking all of them all back and getting motorola. So ,are they going to get this fixed, or are they going to go back to the 31P2's now that I have given up my panasonics? I really liked them too...grrrrr

Thanks for the scoops Dan...
My 31P2 is being replaced with a 3000..I will update everyone once I get it.
My guess is you will see a few firmware updates for it soon here to resolve some of the issues with the echo etc. It DOES seem like Vonage is pushing these like they did with the W's that had alot of issues at first...
Maybe some more large scale testing prior to consumer launch will be a good idea...

And can we be pre-emptive here and say that the 3000's won't be able to be "unlocked" so we don't have 20 threads asking if it can be? Very Happy
