Well, I do not mean to sound sarcastic, but if you signed up for three accounts, all in the same NPA-NXX, real fast, such as you had three browsers open all at once and then went "click, click, click" all at the same time, the likelihood of getting three numbers in a numeric sequence is very good. |

I don't think sarcastic describes your solution. Optimistic would be the nicest thing one could say about it. Although, I only have sarcastic remarks to that. Nothing like telling a business to roll the dice on getting their phone numbers set-up. I think a feature like getting x numbers in order is available from any phone company. What if someone dropped a number then one could potentially fill that gap with the first number and then continue 100s of numbers away. Besides that with claims of 1000s new customers a month chances are that someone else is also clicking. It doesn’t sound to me like Vanage is trying to attract any real business customers. |

ATT CallVantage said although my Vonage account is still active the number Vonage supplied me with is NOT portable. So when I signed up for Vonage, I guess I signed up for life. That is very unfortunate for my business. Maybe the problem could be corrected if customer service would get back to me. My phone has been down (and my fax) for three days and I have run up my cell minutes waiting on hold for customer service. I thought by emailing them I would get a response...I have recieved nothiing. |

Dan,
Although I have been assigned a new number from AT&T, my Vonage account is still alive. I would gladly cancel my new AT&T line and order another if we could port my existing Vonage number.
I'd be happy to PM you my account info if you would be willing to pass it along to whoever can help me.
AT&T has not been out to connect our physical line on the poll yet, so we don't actually have the pots service yet, just the account. We haven't given anyone the new number yet either.
Thanks
Doug |

[B]Hey everyone. I was just reading the issue about porting a number from Vonage to a regular phone company. This afternoon, I just transferred from Vonage to Verizon...and had this same question for them: "Are there ANY known issues from transferring my number from Vonage to you, or any other regular phone service provider?" I got this as the reaponse from the Customer Service Rep: "The only issues we, or ANY other regular phone service provider, have is incompatibility with Voip numbers with our own systems. This is a POTS (plain old telephone service) issue and NOT your Voip provider." Needless to say...I have been switched to regular phone service WITHOUT any problems. This time, I agree with the person that said the problem was with your local provider...they probably didn't want the headache of transferring your number (as it has a 20 day waiting period for Vonage to accept the transfer request) and just gave you a new one. |

My belief is that this is an issue with the carrier providing the TN to Vonage (in most cases this is Focal/Broadwing). THey are not updating the LERG properly with their OCN for the NPA/NXX they are handing out to Vonage.
This is VERY MUCH a Vonage issue and should be pursued with them. |
