PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2005 1:48 pm    Post subject: Brinks and Vonage? Does this combo really work Reply with quote Back to top

Guys i have just signed up with vonage and am still in the LNP process but am now finding out i will end up paying 45$ for service and 75$ for equipment for brinks to work!!

can some one confirm if that is true as i have searched and noticed some say u dont need any qeuipment change provided u feed the voip sifnal back into the plugs in the wall...

i am in no way interested in spending money to get alarm fixed instead will wait till dec to get out of the contract and get them to fix it for free rather than spend the money

any suggestions please let me know.

Log in to your account at the brinks web site, there is a little blurb about Brinks and Vonage. You will probably have to pay for the service call to disable the software dialout update.

That is correct. I too use brinks and just recently got vonage. Before I got vonage I tried to negotiate with Brinks to do the service change for free but unfortunately they would not so I went to vonage and had them give me 2 months free plus equipment free....only paid the $14 to have it shipped. I told them the situation with Brinks and that unless I can make up the cost I couldn't sign with them so the were gladly able to work with me on it.

I have had AT&T Callvantage for 4 years now. Since that service is going away I am now in the process of porting my phone to Vonage. I never had a problem with Callvantage. I see no techincal reason why Vonage should be any different.

I'll know for sure next week, but I see no reason why not.
