So, after waiting a few weeks (which was longer than expected, but not horrible), I finally received notification that my number port had been approved. An email from Vonage said that the port would be completed on the 4th.
It's now the evening of the 7th and I'm still waiting for the transfer. I called up customer support and they told me to wait a week.
Why is it that almost every other post I've seen here that included their dates has had the transfer occur the same day once the carrier approved it?
Is there something I'm missing or is Vonage just wasting time? Or do they not do LNP over the weekend?
Here's what my info is as of this moment:
July 15, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization July 15, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received July 16, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier August 4, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer |

svferris you should not have to wait a week for the number transfer. The most is 24 hours it would take. Seems your issue may be a partial port or your carrier released your number to early. PM me your phone number or account# I will look into it for you. |

I've experienced the same delay in LNP.
May 13, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization May 16, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received May 17, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
After waiting a month, contacted CS. Then contacted Lingo (prev. carrier). Lingo said no LNP-out request on file. Called back to Vonage to discuss. Said renewed LNP request would be sent to Lingo & confirmed.
I received an email from Vonage with a date of July 21st for the port. Then when that didn't happen, I was told that the 21st was a tentative date & that the actual date would be July 27th. Guess what? Still waiting...
Today, was told that they do not show a reply from Lingo with a port date. So where did the previous dates come from?
Should I cancel manual LNP & go with the eLOA? Anyone had good experience with this?
I feel like my phone service is being held captive. |
