If your RTP300 is not working (i.e. outbound calls connect but you can't hear the person on the other end) or if you simply cannot make outbound calls here's what I did to get mine working until my new device arrives or they come up with a firmware fix for it:

Here was the ideal connection that I wanted but failed:
modem-->RTP300-->Router

Ih the above configuration in using the RTP300 as a router (with firewall and NAT enabled) it dropped needed voice packets. I turned off Firewall/NAT and outbound calls started working but then my internet connection would not work.

Here is my fallback configuration:
modem-->Router-->RTP300

I connected my RTP300 in this mode as a workaround but it's not ideal because I lose the QoS capabilities and it relies on more infrastructure to run. However, in this mode I am able to disable Firewall/Nat and all my outbound phone calls work and so does my internet connection.

Hopefully the engineers at Vonage or Linksys will address this issue very soon. I hope this helps anyone else having similar problems with their RTP300 device.

Thanks.

I've had the "can't hear each other" problem each of the last 2 days. I tried your suggestion of disabling NAT/firewall, so we'll see what happens.

edit: One thing that I noticed is that I can now access the RTP300 from port 80 via the WAN port. It seems like disabling NAT/firewall might assign the WAN port to the LAN bridge.
edit2: Just figured out that WAN port is not assigned to the LAN bridge.

Go into the setup of the router. And set the DMZ host as 192.168.15.1

kpdillon,

You may be on to something...

Since I disabled NAT/Firewall on my RTP300, the "I can't hear you" problem hasn't been back...

jdr30, I haven't tried putting it in the DMZ at this point...

I got an RTP300 today and it is fine. It has firmware version 1.00.20. It does show up under UPnP as WRTP54G though.

Just setup today. Had a problem that while talking there would be a 10 to 20 second drop out in the conversation. I have turned off Nat/Firewall and DHCP and plugged it into my D-Link DI-624 an it now seems to be working. My cable modem and D-Link are at one end of the house. I have a hard wire running to the other end of the house where I have it plugged into the LAN port (yes, I said LAN port) of the RTP300. I have a patch cable plugged from the WAN port to one of the other 3 available LAN ports on the RTP300. I needed to run a hard wired machine from this location which I have plugged into one of the two available Lan ports of the RTP300. Being I have turned off NAT/Firewall and DHCP the 4port switch is acting independently of WAN port. This allows me to get my IP addresses from the D-Link so I can use the printers and fileshare with the other devices connected to the D-Link. I hope there will be a firmware update to address this issue.

They just updated mine to 1.00.37 because I was having problems. The tech told me they don't do it automatically anymore. So anyone with an earlier version needs to call them.
