I've had Vonage since April and after it was set up I have not had a problem.

Here in New Jersey our phone hasn't worked all day. We cannot make or receive any calls. Outbound I get a fast busy, inbound the call rings then just hangs in space, dead space.

Dan, how much does Vonage pay you to never have a problem with your service?

LOL - the point is, this does not seem to be a 100% outie

If it were, all 14K plus members would be here, and they are not.

Look, some of you that just joined in the last few days simply had the bad luck to sign up just before a problem hit. VoIP telephony is still a new technology. It is bound to have hiccups. Relax. For all the money you are saving over the bells, it's not worth getting so upset over. We have seen these problems in the past and they have always been fixed. Dan isn't any more privileged than the rest of us. We should thank him for hosting this site where we can have these discussions.

Ok. .so we thank Dan. . .

but. . .(and this is a BIG but). . .

We CAN post here. . .the point is we couldn't TALK to Dan right now if we wanted to! (Well, we could. .if he has SKYPE.)

doh!

Twisted Evil

BTW, but I JUST (@ 6:28pm EST) talked to Customer Service (after waiting only about 12 minutes) and they said "we'll be down about another half hour or 45 minutes. . .so. . .not only are they LIARS, but they don't even post the lies on their site. . .

Dan, you're a lucky man. Whenever there is an outage, failure, or glitch, I am ALWAYS on the receiving end of Vonage's f-up.

Last week it was 40 second delays before I could access my voicemail or anyone could hear my outbound greeting. Today it's a mixture of callers going nowhere, fast busies, people getting the wrong voicemail greeting, and all sorts of mayhem. Prior to this I have been through at least two other total outages that I have been aware of.

Even the "Executive Response Team" no longer replies to voicemails or emails. As a previous poster suggested, someone at Vonage needs to come up with a root cause analyses of these issues and take the necessary steps to make sure that it does not happen again (or at least MUCH less frequently than many of us have experienced).

I feel that Vonage is doing a great job of nailing itself in a coffin. Through continued failures and outages, complaints to PUCs and the FCC will increase. Eventually, regulators will step in and Vonage will be no different than Ma Bell. This is too bad.

We can all thank Dan for a good place to vent our frustrations, but the fact of the matter is, Dan personally benefits from this site... so take that feeling of generosity with a grain of salt Smile
