I was with out service for a week, but it was not due to Vonage, rather my ISP, who put the squeez on my internet service. I guess none of you ever had major issues with your old Lan-line service or problems with a cellphone service... I can remember Ma' Bell having severe issues like this. (its a phone co.) Things happen.
