Feature Request: Outbound number blocking
The ability to maintain a list of numbers that can not be called. This is a extension to the International call blocking. Configurable numbers the can not be used for outbound calls.
Extensions: Perhaps some wild card possibilities.
Extensions: Time restrictions on the numbers
Examples:
Prevent calls to directory assistance 411 (because the cost money)
Prevent calls to 1-900-* (because the cost money)
Prevent calls to 976 numbers (the cost money)
Prevent calls to my childs friend (because my child is grounded)
Thanks,
Brent |

Yes I agree, I would like to have the availability to deny certain number that can be dialed from my phone.
Now that we have unlimited call to Canada / Mexico.
My daughter will talk on the phone to all her computer chat friends all day long and all night while I, am at work.
And I would like to stop this from happening.
We had that option with analog phone I just never had long distance.
I don't want to set a time restriction on my router for this IP address
What if there was a emergency.... Where she needed the phone?
If Vonage does not come up with something soon, I' am going to have no choice but to go back to AT&T or MCI to cure this problem |

Why change services when clearly a stern conversation with the daughter could fix the problem? That might just be easier! |

Been there done that.
I took away Internet / TV I even Grounded.
What do you suggest Next (A good Beating)?
This must be coming from a 13 year old.
Or someone with no Teenagers.
Or maybe even a lazy programmer............... |

Well then, try something else.
I do not suggest a good beating...how about she gets a job and pays for her own line..There are plenty of pay as you go cell phones.Let her talk away, but not on your dime. She doesn't give you the money, then she doesn't get the phone to work.
Actually I am 31 years old with a daughter of my own.
You are right, no teenagers. But coming from a family of 4 kids, I have some backound when 3 of us were teenagers at the same time. And with older friends with some teenagers, I know how it can be.
I am not a lazy programmer, I actually work hard for my money. I just place lazy programmers in jobs (joking about that lazy comment) at companies that can provide services such as Vonage.
It does sound like Vonage is not for you. But also at the same time it sounds like you have much bigger fish to fry. When I was a kid, if I worked up a phone bill you bet your ass I was working it off mowing lawns, etc..But going back to you working harder to have to pay MORE money for a more expensive service doesn't seem like the correct answer. |
