Is there any truth to the rumor that Vonage customers are charged extra for calls to/from cell phones? |

Only for certain international calls to a cell phone.
For example; a call to a residential number in Berlin, Germany would cost 4 cents a minute, whereas a calling a German cellular phone would cost 30 cents a minute. http://vonage.com/intrates.php?lid=nav_intrates#G |

I was just hazarding a guess as to the origin of the rumor jelwell was speaking of. Personally, I've never heard or seen mention of this rumor until now.. |

Keep in mind that in the countries where Vonage charges more for cell calls, it also costs money to call those phones within that country as well. The system is set up there so that the originating caller pays the incoming airtime when calling someone else's cell. Cuts down on telemarketing calls REAL quick. |

That's a press release... put very little faith in such items. They're usually done by PR firms (or people) who have no idea what's really going on. |
