Ok so yesterday I bought the Vonage adapter from future shop here in Montreal, went home activated it and tried to do a number transfer. Much to my satisfaction within seconds of completing the online activation I picked up the phone plugged to the adapter, and it worked! I made an outgoing call with no problem at all. However it would appear that I can not receive calls to the "Temporary virtual number" that has been assigned to me. When I call it from my cell I get a message saying "The number you are calling is temporarily unavailable I104" I called tech support and they said they would work on it and get back to me. I was wondering if this problem was my fault or Vonages fault. And also how to fix it.

Setting up the PAP is idiot proof; I can't see how anyone can go wrong with it. Sounds like this could be either a glitch with Vonage or the PAP you purchased is defective. They would have probably told you already if it was a problem with the PAP. I would go with what they told you and wait for them to get back to you. If you don't hear back from them within a day or two call back, you're the customer and you're paying for this service.

If they can't get it working I believe you still have the 14 day trial offer to fall back on if you're not happy. Good Luck!

Ok so I decided to call them up again this morning about an hour or two after I posted this. They transfered me around a few times, and then the guy on the phone was able to call my box, he said that there was a problem on their end. As soon as I got off the phone I tried to call it and it didn't work, so I threw my cell at the wall Razz about 5 minutes later the phone rang.

Do you have any more information on what they changed? I seem to have the exact same issue here in Atlanta, GA with a PAP2 device. I'd really like to know so I can tell them how to fix it. I've been on 3 calls and continue to get the same response, "we'll check into it and get back to you within 24 hours". It's been almost 4 days now and they have not called me back. I've also sent emails in the interim and called again today (Sunday) to try and move them along only to get a 1st tier support guy that didn't know what he didn't know and thought he knew everything, so he wouldn't tranfer me to a higher level. I didn't feel like fighting it at the time and certainly didn't want to wait for another 45 minutes just for another Tier 1 guy. So, I'm in a holding pattern waiting for them to get back to me.... any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!
