I just signed up for Vonage in Toronto, Canada, and bought my Linksys PAP2 phone adapter from Future Shop. I was told both at Future Shop, and by a Vonage CSR, that I would receive a full rebate for my phone adapter, but I don't know how to get it - and neither have the Vonage customer service people I've spoken with! Has anyone else had this problem (and found a solution)?

I just popped onto the Future Shop website to see what the promotion is with Vonage. Under 'Special Offers' I found this....

SAVE $65!
The products below have a $65 Service Credit issued after 90 days of service. All you have to do is activate your account through Vonage at www.vonage.ca

If this is same promotion you purchased your adapter under, it sounds like after 90 days you'll get a credit posted to your Vonage account for the amount of $65.

So no paper work for you to fill out or envelopes to mail in.

Sometimes with Future Shop they'll give you another register receipt that is the mail-in rebate. All that one needs to do is complete the form on that receipt, attach any additional stuff like the barcode from the box and mail it in.

Hope this helps you.

I think it's also worth mentioning that your account with Vonage must be active for 90 days to qualify. If you close your account for any reason before 90 days you've just inherited a $75 paper weight as this particular adapter can only be used on the Vonage network, at least last I heard.

Personally I have had very few overall issues with Vonage and the ones I have had were dealt with by CS promptly, but I think it's important to put the service through your own tests to determine if it's right for you.

I'm mentioning this because you will likely hear of other plans that other Voip providers are offering that sound better suited to your needs than the one you have right now, and maybe for you this is true, but I thinks it's only fair you know the scoop so you will keep in mind the 14 day Money-Back Guarantee and use it to determine if this service will meet your overall needs.

If I haven't said it already, personally, I'm quite happy with Vonage and give them two thumbs up.

Here's the link to the MBG and the terms.

Cheers

Not to sound negative, but I do have certain links to future shop, as a sales man. And there is a coupon in the store, it is probabally floating around in the staff room, they are orange and have Vonage written on it a fancy picture with a voucher number and a URL and some other details, they say to get the rebait you must use it before August 31st.

However on the website it sais that you just need to activate through vonage.ca and sais nothing about the voucherI do not know which is true...

Upon further investigation aparentally there is only about 1 of theese coupons per store and they are not really required however I am not 100% sure either way, because I got a coupon and used it.

I have received the same "bizarre" answer from Staples "non-qualifying store". Anybody knows what's gong on? I'll call Vonage Customer service myself and will post here the outcome.

Cheers,

Calistrat,

The previous response provided by Odinyur is correct, according to the Customer Service supervisor I spoke with: after 90 days, a rebated of $65 (Canadian) will be applied to your account.

Bought my PAP2 adapter at the Source By Circuit City (formerly Radio Shack) and after 1.5 months of service with Vonage, got a postcard in the mail indicating that the "offer only valid at The Source by Circuit CIty or thesourcecc.com"
WTH? I know that, that's why I bought my adapter there!!!!
Should I email that pr person as recommended?

TIA

Cheers,

I received the same postcard from Staples back in June. I wrote Vonage about it and after investigation, they determined that the postcards from Staples were sent in error. I haven't received my rebate yet but I remember the fine print that stated something like "rebate will be paid within 120 days after the account has been active for 90 days" which effectively means seven months for the rebate. I opened my account in March so I guess i'll see my rebate by October.
