Folks:
Around noon the Nashville comcast system started to deteriorate. I had not been paying attention to the news and had no clue it was virus related. Our system went steadily downhill with email only sneaking in sporadically and then basically gridlocked from about 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and beyond. (last time I checked)
What is interesting is we maintained a dial tone throughout almost the whole mess. Now, the phone was extremely delayed at times and sound quality was HIDEOUS but if we had needed to make an emergent call, we could have. Considering I couldn't even get to the comcast home page during most of that time, I thought that was pretty good news.

I'm on the Comcast network in Richmond and until late last night I didn't experience any major delays. Inbound emails were being delayed for about 30-minutes, but nothing of a big problem, until today. Within the last few hours, I have had a bunch of calls dropped and caller ID has stopped displaying the names, static on the lines, and a lot of voice breakups. I am assuming all of this is because of the virus. |

Keith:
We're back and solid today. found out from an insider at comcast that the reason for the totally BIZARRE speed tests I've had for the last week or two was a router crashing and finally going out in my area right in tandem with the virus hitting.
I'm getting returned emails to earthlink and aol today but everybody else seems to be getting back to normal. I just participated in a conference call of over an hour without incident.
