Post subject: Any way to double check number portability?
A friend subscribed to
Vonage
at my urging as soon as his number reported as transferrable.
Vonage
received the LOA and sent it to the carrier (Sprint) on May 10. Nothing has really happened since. On one of several contacts with
Vonage
by phone and email, he was told by a tech that his number would be released on June 28. Nothing happened, of course. Subsequent promises by
Vonage
techs to check status and inform him have resulted in absolutely nothing!
I'm starting to question whether his number is actually transferrable. Although many cities and towns are listed as having available numbers in his area code, two of the three largest cities aren't mentioned at all. His number still reports as transferrable, but I frankly don't have much faith in that after so long. The virtual number he was assigned is based in a city nearly 100 miles away!
Is there any way to confirm absolutely that his number is, in fact, transferrable?
Thanks for any help!
