Right now have SBC Yahoo DSL Pro package, 3000/512(works out to around 2500 down and 400 up.

Can I get away with 1500/384? That is the standard DSL package and is $10 a month cheaper.

I think you should be fine with the download speeds but the upload speeds may be an issue. It depends on how close to the advertised speeds you can get. I run MCHSI at about 4 MB down and 240k up and it works fine except when I try to upload a file while talking on the phone. When this happens the person I am talking to says I start to garble. I can still hear them fine however. Seems like this should be taken care of with QoS but apparently not.

Advertised speeds are 1500/384, they end up at about 1250/300

You should be ok speedwise, but also remember latency, etc all play a factor also.
