Vonage, please get your support together.

Make sure the Motorola Voip units you send out work... Like with the passthrough so we can actually use the QOS and the internet at the same time.

Hire more support staff or get some reliable equipment.

THanks!

unkyjoe - although we "users" appreciate your feedback and expierences this is already well known by users that this is where Vonage lacks. they have in fact improved a lot in the last year i've had the service but still need more improvement.

and as stated above by gfoulks this forum is privately run and may be viewed by Vonage but is in no way ran by them so posting in the form you did really does no good. send them email with your feedback. although they know it already it doesnt hurt for them to hear it over and over so they dont forget

Just a rant guys!

I didnt' know this wasnt a Vonage Run Site Embarassed

My Bad.

I am ordering a Linksys WR54G Wireless Access point today, and am going to do the firmware flash on the unit that will allow me to do QOS behind a reouter. I will post my results here.

Obviously they are having problems with the Moto MTA doing passthrough properly.

Now to fix that Pesky DirecTivo problem.

Many thanks to the people running this site, nice to have a resource!

I kind of figured it was just a rant. I wish I hadnt't just bought a D-Link Router. That QoS patch sounds pretty cool.

Forgive my ignorance. But what is QoS? Thought it was Quality of Singal/Service? But that can't be it. And what patch are you mentioning.

Thanks in Advance.

Not a patch, it is a custom firmware that someone wrote for the Linksys G router, it enables QOS or Quality Of Service, seeing as the QOS is a piece of junk in the Motorola MTA I am going to use it behind a router, and give priority to the voice over ip instead of web browsing etc.

I hope this clears it up.

Very Happy

Just an update.

I think my motorola box is defective. Why?

I did a ping test, avg 20ms

I did a speed test. 3mb d/l 300K up

Hooked up Motorola box directly to internet with no router, no pc's.

Outgoing calls I hear pulsing, sound cuts out then back in, person on other end heres me fine. I have been on hold with Vonage for over an hour and am giving up!

Will try again tommarow.

P.S. Never got passthrough or port forwarding to work with the Motorola box, 1 time it worked then quit, I think there is a bad batch of these things.

Cheers! Rolling Eyes
