Hi

I find these features confusing to coordinate. For one thing, is it not possible to just have simulring and not wait for forwarding? Anyway maybe one of you helpful souls can dumb it down for me with a step-by-step. This is how I wish I could get it to work:

1. Incoming calls makes both my home (vonage) phone and my cellphone ring at the same time.
2. After ample time, say 45 seconds, call goes to voicemail.

Or the nearest approximation of that heh.

Steps:
1) Log into the Vonage website
2) Go to Features > VM Settings > Configure
3) Set the VM time to 45 > save
4) Go back to Features
5) Click to configure Call Forwarding
6) Click on the SimulRing tab
7) Input your cell number > save changes

If your cell's VM picks up before 45 seconds, shorten the time Vonage goes to VM so Vonage answers first.

Hey I recognize Hoss Cartwright!

But what about the callforwarding tab, what should it be on?

You have Call Forwarding or SimulRing, but not both. So if you enable SimulRing call forwarding should be left alone and vice versa.

Ah, I see the problem now. It's a bug, that page has compatibility issues with Firefox. I couldn't get it to change from Forwarding to Simulring using Firefox. I was able to have simulring without forwarding by using Internet Explorer instead. Should I report that problem somewhere?

You might put it in the Feature Request forum, but I doubt they would just change the website. I've found other incompatibilities on the Vonage website w/Firefox (the search box not being in the right position is one obvious one).

I am not having these problems with Firefox 1.06 on XP Home and the Vonage site. I have a 1024x768 screen, but I tested with 800x640 and it still rendered correctly.

The search box, when you are not logged in, appears in the upper right corner of the grey border just below the header of the page.

I have no problems selecting between simulring or forwarding.

I am curious, what problems are you seeing and what platform/version is involved?

I am using 1.0.6. I also have the latest versions of XP and pretty much everything else. The problem occurs from various physical locations when using Firefox.

I am not having display issues but functionality issues. Let me try to describe them.

When I originally went to the Call Forwarding I had set it instantly ring my cell, before the adapter arrived, worked great. Then when the adapter arrived I set it to forward to cell after 40 or 50 seconds. Then I saw Simulring and tried to change it to that. I couldn't get the application to disable Call Forwarding, but it did accept the cellphone number for Simulring. I tried everything, disabling and enabling, resetting, etc. nothing would clear up that problem. And the result was that a caller would just get bounced back and forth between the two numbers indefinitely.

If you want some real Firefox whackiness, go to the section for first time visitors to the site, checking on Vonage service availability, where you click on the geographical area graphic. Enter the area code and you'll get a result. but it will skip right out of the results of the search and return to the page for entering your area code. I would think that page really needs fixing since the idea is to impress potential new customers.
