I already referred one person and recently received a confirmation email that they signed up last week. I may cancel my Vonage service before the 14 day trial period is up. Will my friend still receive a credit for her service? (I know I won't of course) |

Forwarded all calls from my home number to Vonage number. At least 3 times in the last couple of days my Vonage phone wouldn't ring when someone called, they went straight to voicemail. I know someone called because my home number rings once when someone dials it and gets forwarded. My cable modem service was not down at the time. In fact, I called the Vonage number five minutes later from my cell phone and it rings.
Secondly, my wife called her mother. Mother couldn't hear her at all. Wife could hear her. She called back and used the cell phone. I called their house 15 minutes later and there was no problem.
Some small amount of echo on one of my conversations. Not horrible, but not as clear as I had hoped.
The biggest issue is the first. If someone calls and I don't hear it ring, that's a big problem. Won't know there's a message or a call missed unless I pick up phone and listen for stutter dialtone, or check my email. An answering machine with callerID has two notifications -- a call indicator and a message indicator. Much easier.
Also, the sound quality from the voice adapter is not that great. Hear lots of interference locally (not network related). A second voice adapter and finally reaching an english speaking tech and it was determined that some phones are just not as compatible. See my post on the subject if you want more details.
That's why I'm considering not staying on. |
