Hey all. Maybe this was obvious to most people but it wasn't to me. I have the 25.99/month plan with 500 long distance minutes. I also have a virtual number in another state.
If someone places a call to your virtual number, Vonage "uses" the virtual number to place a call to your main number. The bottom line is that a call to your virtual number is treated like your virtual number calling you, thus using your minutes in your 500 allowance. |

Chip,
That's right, it will count as minutes used.
We have the Unlimited plan so it doesn't affect us - but we do redirect our Vonage to our cell phone when we're away from home and it eats our minutes on our cell phone same as your 500 minute Vonage plan.

That is not correct.
All incoming calls to any Vonage number is free, regardless of which rate plan you are on. |

Actually it is correct. I got an email from Vonage Customer Service telling me exactly that: Incoming calls to a virtual number which is not in your same region as the main number, will deduct from your allotment of minutes under the 25.99/month plan. |
