Ok, here is the scenario. I just got Vonage service and was testing features. I have no special configuration except that I use simulring to ring my cell and home phones at once with a customized time setting so Vonage VM gets it before my cell VM. Everything works great except for Click-to-call.
When I attempt to use click-to-call to connect with a third party, it rings my cell phone but not my vonage/home phone. If I answer my cell phone it immediately disconnects without connecting me to the third party. I tried removing all call forwarding/simulring options so that it would be configured generically and it simply does not work (ie: does not ring anything). Called Vonage TS and they walked me through several things but could not resolve problem and told me they would contact me at another time and did not.
Anyone experiencing a similar problem or have any suggestions for a fix? |

Are you able to receive incoming calls on the Vonage line? |

Yes, no problems with how anything works except when I try to use the click-to-dial. |

I use my click to call with Outlook and it works just fine. I just tested it. Have you found any resolution to your problem? |

No resolution yet. Do you copy and paste into the Click to call app or use a hot key or what? |

I don't use click to call but often my cell phone rings in and not my regular phone....I have to have a cell phone just to know that people are trying to call me. Other times my phone does get the calls and I can pick them up...just very unreliable. |

This is exactly what happens when I enable call forwarding and use Click-to-Call.

OK, here is an update on some things I have tried. To answer one question I have a Linksys WRTP54G. I tried tech support and got a lame "reinstall the app" answer. Tried it and didn't work.
Trying to explore the problem I removed all simulring and call forwarding features except for the feature of forwarding to another number if my Vonage service is down. The alternate number I put in was my cell phone. Attempted to do a C2C and it still rang just my cell phone and would not connect. I then proceeded to remove the backup cell phone forward and now C2C does not work at all. I can initiate a call from the PC app but nothing rings anywhere.
Anyone have any further suggestions?
***UPDATE***
One hour on the phone with Vonage Level 2 TS gets me a log started that they will use to track the operation of my ATA to see if anything looks wierd. If nothing then they will open a ticket with Level 3 TS that a lowly customer is not allowed to approach and can only be addressed through the mediator of Level 2 TS or Jesus Christ. This is starting to get fun.
Standby for further updates... |

I normally use Click-2-Call from my home phone.
I reconfigured my line to use simulring in conjunction with my mobile phone. I then placed a Click-2-Call to my wife's mobile phone.
It rang both my Vonage line and my mobile, my Vonage line rang twice before my mobile rang.
If I pick up on the mobile my call is immediately dropped. The dashboard shows an incoming click-2-call that was forwarded to my mobile. It kind of makes sense that this would not work as it would allow me to place calls from any phone using my Vonage line as long as I was able to access the Internet to set up simulring.
If I picked up my Vonage line the call was placed normally.
If you removed simulring and your cell phone still rang then I would assume that Vonage is using your network availability number. Change or remove that number to see if this is true.
If you are normally getting incoming calls on your Vonage line when not placing C2C calls then I would try placing a call to your Vonage line when your computer's Internet connection is active and see if you can still get an incoming call. If not then I would check to make sure that your adapter's IP address is not in conflict with your computer's IP address. |
