Dan, thanks for explaining that. That part Zoly said about the illegal thing I dind't understand but now I do. Before I had looked at it as Vonage taking care of the portability on their end in the mean time, but your right, if I dial 555-3484, it should go to 555-3484 whatever that is.
I'm pretty sure Vonage does not read these forums. The format of this site is very misleading. It sure is easy to confuse with a Vonage run site, it took me a while to figure out it was not. I wonder if Vonage gave permission for all of it's branding to be used here.
So who wants the job of paiteiently explaining why Zoly's situation is not right to the Vonage techs? |

timl2k4: I know I don't have the patience for listening to that Vonage music again. Maybe Zoly could just forward this thread to customer service? |

I called to tech support 2 days ago and after waiting for about 40 min I have been disconnected!!! Honestly, I didn't want to give a try one more time. |

My friend signed up first of DEc. 2003 and did not get his local phone transfered until about 20th of January 2004. Thus I thought he would give up Vonage too soon. Every time I saw him on AIM, he would say Vonage ****. Can you blame him.
I would tell him your local phone company loves you too much and is stalling. I would hope that was the reason. |

FWIW, I have found exactly the same thing. While awaiting a number transfer from SBC for Vonage, my phones are connected to SBC (so I get my incoming calls). Anyone calling from the Vonage network is routed to the ATA, which is not connected to any phones.
The really embarrassing part (for Vonage) is that when I leave a callback number to discuss the LNP delays, I have to leave them my cell phone number, becuase THEY have no way to call the SBC-connected phone! |
