I am about 1 week into my Vonage "experience".
I have the Linksys WRTP54G router and have not experienced any loss of dialtone, cut off calls, echo calls, etc. reported by other users
HOWEVER...
Every couple hours my PC's loose their browser and email connections to the router. I have a physical connection to the router (and can access the router via 192.168.15.1 however no internet connection nor email connection is getting in or out of the router.
This is occuring on two separate machines and never happened with our old (non Voip) Linksys wireless router. The WRTP54G does have the most current firmware (1.00.37)
Rebooting every couple hours had a nostalgic, Windows 98 feel for one or two occurances, but now it is just plain frustrating.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a solution to this issue? |

Yes, there have been ALOT of issues with this router discussed here, but all relate to various ailments that are NOT effecting me.
I have not found any threads dealing with the loss of internet and email connectivity after a few hours while still retaining voice connection.

For a wired connection?
Have you tried turning on logging and seeing if anything possibly relevant shows up when the outages happen? (Of course, if your computer can't talk to the router then it won't be able to receive the log messages, but perhaps something relevant will be sent just before the connection dies). |
