Woke up this morning to see this Linksys travel router on BroadbandReports.Com . Thought this would be a great idea for Vonage to get these in stock for people that are traveling. Would probley only be good for the US since it has the power supply built in but its still a start.

that looks very cool!

you can buy power converters at radio shack that should work with it in most countries.

Spec sheet says the built in power supply is 120-240 so all you should need is a flat pin to whatever plug adapter.

According to a level 2 tech guy with Vonage, it's already done and being beta tested.

How long has this THREAD been sleeping, more like...

Looks like someone found the thread and resurrected it based on the request to get Voip installed on that tiny little number. Now, THAT would be tasty. A little portable WTR54GS travel router with Vonage installed? Yummy!

Oops, I hate when I forget to notice that - especially when I was trying to give Kevin a bit of a hard time. <g>

On another note, after seeing your adventures, and another successful report with a v2 like mine, I went ahead and installed Thibor 13d on my 54G too - now tell me why I did that and what I have that I didn't have before? <g>

BTW, noticed the other day that my local Sam's Club (both locations I checked) have older model WRT54GS's for $59.95. I think I may go pick one up. Guess that way I'll have the same firmware on both at least. Use the old one in WDS mode to network the TIVO's, I'm thinking.

Oh, and my "promo" rate of $19.95 for Comcast expired this month, so I called them again to complain of their high ($42.95) rate vs. what I could get DSL for. They wouldn't give me the $19.95 again, but offered $29.95 AND an upgrade to 8M/768k at that price, so now I'm even speedier. Smile

New features you'll likely never use, and SpeedBooster if you ever needed it, which I don't. I just liked his new QoS features for P2P and a few of his new tweaks, though it's unlikely I'll use them. My Inner Geek said "yes! yes!" (grin)

I now officially hate you. (grin) Enjoy. There's no competition around here, so deals are few and far between for Internet. They provide solid, reliable Internet at a fair price ($45 a month, 3m/256k) to keep the regulators off their backs, but no bargains and no sales, because where are you going to go??? They are competing with WiFi, which is just barely penetrating the local market just now, and DSL which isn't available for most of us here in the Hinterlands because Verizon doesn't think we're worth putting in the fiber drops.
