Do you have this problem. I set up my account so that if a call is not answered after 20secs, forward it to my cell phone, and if not answered there after 18 seconds, go to Voicemail. Left to itself, my cell phone will route the call to my wireless voicemail after 30 secs, so setting the no-answer-go-to-voicemail period at 18 secs should be safe, i.e. the call should go to Vonage Voicemail if not answered.
After two rings on my cell phone, the caller would suddenly hear a busy tone. Imagine people's surprise when calling me: a ring tone followed by a busy tone
The magic number of seconds that I found is 15 seconds. If I set the no-answer-go-to-voicemail period at 15 secs, then it works as it's supposed to, i.e. ring for 20secs, go to cell phone, ring for 15 secs, then go to voicemail. But when I increase from 15 to 16 secs, then bamm, instead of going to Voicemail, it becomes a busy tone. |
