Received my VT1000 yesterday afternoon. Installed it last night ahead of my router, via static IP from RoadRunner. Attached LinkSys router to PC port, again static IP from VT1000 port. Rebooted. Phone and all computers (via DHCP) work great! Not a single issue so far! Who needs tech support anyway? So far, don't see what all the fuss is about. (I hope it stays that way ).
Had read all the postings on this forum for about 2 months before I decided to try (hesitantly) for myself - because I'm a "go for it techi" kind of a guy. We get good clear sound, and no data issues from the computing side. Our family is mostly on the go and rely on our cell phones for primary communications, so what little we will probably use this service, it will be good enough. Not to mention a huge savings by comparison to Ma Bell.
If you guys need particulars on my setup...please post...
