Per this article above...can existing customers purchase the phone and have it activated in addition to their current ATA (VT1000) or would the wireless device replace the ATA completely?

It would replace your current ATA if you added it to your current account.

So we could just go to Best Buy or Staples and pick one up then call Vonage and tell them we bought one and they could activate?

I'd rather use 2 tin cans than anything from VTech. I wonder why Vonage hasn't gone with Uniden's IP phones yet.

If anyone has any experience with changing / replacing equipment for their Vonage service can they give us an idea of what to expect or maybe where to start? I'm hoping the package comes with some directions as to how existing customers can use a new device or how to activate.

You buy it (rebates do not apply), install it, call customer service with the new MAC address.

Enjoy,

I don't think it will be possible to use Vonage with your home wiring if you install these phones.

why would want to use your home lines with up to 4 additional phones that come with chargers plus able to communicate between phones ...conference calling ,, etc everyone in the house could have there own!!!!! most of the wiring is crap anyway,, who needs home lines is'nt that the point. I went to Bestbuy today and the idiot didnt know what I was talking about , so I found it on the top shelf myself... 3 total with no price. No promo that sucked, I will buy when I save a couple of more pennys on my phone bill Haaaaaaah!!!!!
