Although
Vonage
has (805) area codes they don't have any in my 100 mile stretch of Local Calling Area (Santa Barbara, CA) so what good is a new (805) number outside my Local Calling Area when all my friends have to pay the 10cents per minute to call my new number located in neighboring towns of Ventura or Santa Maria, etc.? My current number also can't be ported per
Vonage
. What a waste of a couple hours replacing my Wireless Router with the heavily advertised Vonage/Linksys combo. I may complain to Cisco and FCC and FTC about the blatant misrepresentation about free local calling.

A few thoughts here,
1) I don't believe they ever advertised that your number would be considered "local" for incoming calls, only that out going calls would be free under some of their plans
2) Didn't you check this our throughly before you purchased your new router?
