Hey Guys,
If this answer has already been asked please forgive me. I was in the middle of upgrading the firmware last night due to some of the issues others are experiencing. During the upgrade the page went to "Page Not Displayed". I tried to restart the firmware upgrade and now the router power light blinks. I have tried to reset the router but I have a feeling the firmware upgrade that was in the middle of processing has locked me out completely. Is there anyway to fix this?
Thank you,
Michael |

Please follow the below procedure.
Unplug all the phones from the devices
Log into the administration page of the device
Factory Reset Voice and Router Side of the Device
login with the following credentials
Username: user Password: tivonpw
Device should come in with the firmware |

Hey hey! That sounds much like what happened to me.
Except I can't even get to the administration page. The router resets within 5 seconds before I can do anything. It continually resets, over and over again, until I unplug it.
What's more is that I wasn't the one who initiated the firmware upgrade... it was done automatically, and now my router is completely inaccessible. I'm still waiting to here how many others have this problem before I return the router. I'd like to use Vonage, but if this is what is going to be done to my equipment, I don't have much of a choice. |

How do you know it is resetting? Is that the constant power light blinking? |

the constant power light blinking means its dead basically. specifically I suppose it means it can't/won't/isn't loading the firmware for some reason. (mainly seen in failed upgrades like the original poster) |

Hi guys:
I checked Linksys site for a firmware upgrade for the WRTP54G and I didn't see one available. I was looking to resolve my no dial tone problem. The firmware icon was grayed out indicating that no firmware upgrade is available for this router. So you may have tried to upgrade with wrong firmware?

Nah, my problem is slightly different. The light will eventually stop blinking and just remain on, and I can connect to the admin site for about a 3-second window - the wireless light turns on, and about a second later all of the lights flash and the router reboots.
I'm going to be returning the router tomorrow. |

Does it still reboot if you leave it disconnected from the Internet? |

Yeah. I've tried every different connection possibility I could, I've tried manually rebooting the router to the default settings at different points in the boot cycle, both to no avail. It just doesn't like the firmware it seems.
When I can access the admin page during that 2-3 second window, it says my firmware is 1.0.37. My firmware was not 1.0.37 when I first pruchased the router, and never manually updated it. I can only assume that the firmware update has something to do with the problem my router is having.
Regardless, with all of the other problems people have with this router I may as well just return it today and get something that works more reliably. I just don't want to have to go through the MAC address hassle... |
