Issue #1: I am plagued by bill collectors on my land line. So I'm debating getting a new phone number when I start Vonage. My question is, how well does it identify and block bill collectors? On SBC they often come through as "800 Services" but if I block that, I block a lot of other non-harrassing types of calls.
Issue #2: Is there some choice involved in selecting a new number? I like trying to find a phone number that spells something phonetically. Does it give you multiple choices?
I'm also aware some people have had difficulties being assigned a number, but evading all those harrassing calls could be worth it for me
Thoughts, anyone? |

1. Vonage does not offer Anonymous Call Rejection, yet.
2. As far as I know, you cannot choose your number (just the area code) |

Re: #1, ever thought of claiming that you just moved to the area and got that number and have no idea of who they're talking about? |

I'll consider that tip! However, until I get some legal problems resolved and get these guys off my back, they seem to just pass along the accounts to person after person.
So if I understand correctly, I'll actually be set back by transferring the number because anonymous calls can't be rejected. A definite argument for getting a new number, in my case. |

Ah, my first jackass on the forum. Be sure to brag to your mom about this when she comes down to the basement to drop off your clean laundry. |

I haven't heard your side of the story, but he does seem to have a good point. |

for your information I do not live with my mom, LMFAO! I live with my wife and 4 KIDS! I support them all, as they are all US citizens and my wife cannot work in Canada yet, for the last year I was making a whopping $15/hr (till 2 wks ago I got my mechanics lince and got a nice raise) and I never once missed a bill, and we always have food and our lights/phone/cable/heat are always on.. did I mention the $2000++ bill to Canada Immigration...
anyways, this forum is not for ****, so I'm sorry, I was at work, lol, and thought it was an obvious point..
I'd change your number, that way they can't get ahold of you anymore, they still have your SSN# for getting your credit later on.. it's all good.. |
