Hey, I had a power outage the other day, which I have since recovered my internet and phone connection from. However, when someone calls my number, they don't hear my voice when the Voicemail picks up. It's some deep, NFL news reel type voice. It says "Hello, please leave a message after the tone."
I've dialed the local access number for VM and verified that my message is there.
Also, if I leave a message, I don't get notified of it.
Is there anything I can try before calling into support? |

Check to see what the number is of the Voice mail box that "the Voice" says. See if it matches your phone number. If it doesn't, check your settings for call forwarding in your web account.
Also, go to your web account and just check a few settings for accuracy(Voicemail,Call Forwarding)
If that doesn't help. Call CS. |

It doesn't a number. I've gone over the web settings many times. I finally blew a call into support and it turns out there is something wrong with my VM box. It's been escalated to their engineers. I hope to hear back soon that it's fixed. |

OMG, this turned out to be something so stoopid!!
Somehow, the power outage/return caused an old phone (given by a family member) to start using it's answering machine. When I get home tonight, I have to check this thing out, as we have never used it as an answering machine, and it's been used for years now, and has never (to my recollection) picked up messages.
WOW, pretty funny actually. Glad this is resolved!! |
