Hello All, I just got Vonage service and I need help installing Vonage with my existing home wiring. I have followed the instructions on vonage's website and I disconnected the phone connection wires outside where the service comes to my house. I don't have the new box of just unpluging the jack, I have the old setup where all the wires are screwed on. So I disconnected one (red color) of the two wires that comes into the house. There were two red color wires so I disconnected both of them. The phone lost the dial tone so I plugged the a phone cable from the Vonage adapter into the phone jack but I am not getting a dial tone in the other jacks. Should I connect both red wires, Could there be a break in the circuit or did I do something wrong....Please Help!!!!!!! |

Any chance you could get a good photo of the wiring?
A phone line needs a pair of wires to function... I'm guessing yours are probably red and green. You'll need to connect all the red wires together and all the green wires together, but none of them should connect to the outside wiring. |

I will take a picture tomm morning and post it...When I opened the phone jack, it was red and green...The only thing I am not sure is that I have two phone lines, and I think my second line also uses the green wire, I am not sure if that is possible, If that is the case any suggestions on how to fix it? |

The normal colors would be red/green for line 1, and black/yellow for line 2. I suppose it might be possible for the 2 lines to share a wire, but that would be horribly nonstandard. |
