I'm having trouble setting up my Vonage linksys router with my wireless netgear router. I can connect with one or the other but not both. Any ideas on how i should set this up?

I have both Linksys wireless and Vonage Linksys router, my wireless has 4 ethernet ports, I use one of them for my Vonage and it plugs into the Internet port of Vonage RT31P2 rounter.
You should have the same options. Good Luck!!

There are a lot of different set-up options, so search this forum to see which one might work the best for you.

I have mine set-up likes this:

Cable Modem --> RT31P2 --> D-Link Wireless Router

I shut of DHCP on the RT31P2 and open up all ports and enabled DMZ on that router.

I use my wireless router to assign IP's via DHCP and for everything else.

Anyway I used this so the RT31P2 can be used for QOS and that is it.

I had to setup an IP reservation on the web-admin page of the Netgear router such that it would reserve a specfic IP for the Linksys router. All of my PC's are connected (wired or wireless) to the Netgear router. The reason for this is that my Nortel VPN doesn't work when the PC is behind the RT31P2 router.

With this configuration everything works - - with one phone plugged into the RT31P2. When I plug into the rest of the house, I suspect the voltage isn't strong enough to ring (at least loudly) the other 7 phones in my house. **Update** I found that by disconnecting the phone lines from the "Green Box" outside my house that all my phones work (still leaving those paired but disconnected from box). I think when a call was coming in voltage was being lost backfeeding into my former phone service provider. I also found that using a splitter would not work for the phone closest to the Linksys. I've left that one out of the loop and the rest (6 ea) now work fine.

I hope this helps you with the issue.

Call CS and have them set your RT31P2's ringer to 90 Volts, 20Hz, Trapezoidal. That might help the phones ring better.

To be a pest, the manual and the web pages from Vonage all say to make sure you disconnect your phone network from the rest of the world (as in your prior phone service). It definitely won't work correctly and if they happen to send a signal down your line for whatever reason it will fry your Vonage router. My first line was working fine, but when I added my second line I had the same problem, after I disconnected form the Verizon network my phone system started to work just fine.
