I've been in Vonage hell for a week, now. After our router went out, my husband ran thru all the steps and determined it was defective. Since we live in a fringe area cellphone-wise, my husband had to get into his pickup and drive to the top of a hill near our house in order to get thru to Vonage. He got someone in India who then tried to get my husband to go through the protocols to determine the router wasn't working, and my husband said he couldn't do that because he wasn't near the router, and he tried to explain why, and the guy on the other end apparently couldn't depart from the script he was supposed to follow, and my husband kept telling the guy PLEASE JUST TRUST ME, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, PLEASE PLEASE SEND ME A ROUTER. So the guy in India said okay, we'll do that sir, and you'll have it on Monday. Monday came and went. Turns out the router was never shipped. My husband gets back on the phone and 45 minutes later learns that Vonage's phone records show him as uncooperative and unwilling to work with Vonage. So my husband demands, and finally gets, a supervisor in Edison New Jersey. The Edison guy hears the whole story and says no problem, we'll ship you the router. Well, guess what? It hasn't been shipped and it's now two days later. I GIVE UP. Today I'm heading down to Best Buy or Office Depot to pick up another router and I'll shell out the $99 or whatever it costs because LIFE IS TOO SHORT!!!! Thanks, Vonage, for NOTHING. |

If you don't need the router capability, go to Sam's and pickup the PAP2 for under $40. |

Don't you need a router/gateway for the PAP2? |

After my earlier rant today in this forum, Richl at Vonage contacted me and I'm happy to say that Vonage is going to send me a router. So this is just a way to say, yes, this forum works -- or at least it did for me. |
