What ports does the ATA 186 use? I need to set my router because of a conflict with my DTA310. Thanks. |

Hi Preston:
I have that info and I am looking for it, but it should not be an issue.
What problems are you having? |

I'm a happy Vonage user but also ordered the Packet 8 DTA310 just for fun. When both are hooked into my router, they can both make outgoing calls. Vonage is a bit better, I believe, but the Packet 8 DTA310 does have less echoing, at least for me. However, the problem is with incoming calls. If someone calls my ATA186, it rings once and then stops when the DTA310 is also plugged in. When I called the ATA186 using the DTA310, all you could hear was harsh statis when both phones were connected. I'm thinking the router is sending data to both devices and I need to set the router's port settings to forward certain port data to a particular device.
I have Vonage as my primary phone with unlimited minutes. The Packet8 is a backup phone right now and I plan to take it to work to use it sometime in the future. |
