Post subject: Incoming Calls Straight to Voicemail, Outgoing On Wrong #
There were three numbers associated with my account - one that I was going to transfer but never did (we'll call it 'A'), one that was transfered ('B'), and the assigned one
Vonage
gives while the initial transfer is taking place ('C').
For awhile everything with my
Vonage
account seemed to be working great. Then I had
Vonage
remove the number that was never transfered from my cell phone carrier ('A') [while I had filled out the web form with
Vonage
and associated it with my account I never filed the paperwork with my cell phone carrier].
Ever since that number was dropped all incoming calls to my main number ('B') go straight to voicemail. When I call out on what should be 'B' all that shows up on reciever's caller id boxes is the default number ('C'). I've called
Vonage
and made sure that 'B' was to be the main number on the account but nothing changed. Calls from outside into the assigned number ('C') get through correctly and ring the phones in the house.
I've seen some of the other threads about incoming calls going straight to voicemail and tried opening ports as they suggested - that didn't work. It really seems like the router believes that it 'belongs' to number 'C' - how do I get 'B' to be the main number? Will canceling the default number ('C') given to me by
Vonage
force 'B' to be the main number? Is there some hardware setting I missed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
