I have looked into SoftPhone and agree that it is a lettle strange to need another phone number. I am looking for something fairly simple. i would mlike an onscreen system that: 1, allows me to dial from my Outlook 2. Shows caller id for incomoing calls 3. Maybe do some time tracking I have tried to get click 2 call to work but I haven't gotten my phone to 'ring back' yet, after entering the number I want to call. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks |

First off Click2Call is only a Firefox/Thunderbird extension and works perfectly over here after I figured out that the userid and password are the ones you use for your dashboard, and that your telephone # is the 11 digit - 1+areacode+7 digit #. I also use Click2Call with my own "homebrewed" phonebook. I made it in Excel, saved it as an HTML file and made Firefox open it thus Click2Call will work with it. Then edit it with Excel to add or delete #'s. Then I went and downloaded "PhoneTray Free" from http://phonetray.traysoft.com/ which allows my old dial-up modem with caller ID function to not go to waste. This allows me to see who's calling on my monitor and also allows me to play selected audio files to selected callers or Zap them when I don't want to talk. Also gives you "quiet time" function that will play an audio file when you aren't feeling well ect... Then for the tracking I use the VonageActivity by the same person who gave us Click2Call. This gives you every call received or placed as the "activity" on your dashboard. |

HUH, didn't realize that there was a difference. Didn't know Vonage actually had one. But I do use the Unofficial version and as I said before, works perfectly for me.
Thanks Paul248 for the enlightenment! |
