well i came home right away after school and plugged in the ATA. Took a whole 2 minutes to hookup and and I've got dialtone and can make calls without any problems.

Can it really be that easy? I'm about to test receiving calls to see how that goes. I'm a Vonage customer now and it worked the first time without any hassles.

The one thing I did do was release the IP address on my NIC from my cable internet provider before doing anything.

I wanted to make sure that the ATA had a clean NIC to sends it's IP to once it was turned on and that my cable provider was able to send a good IP to my ATA without some kind of conflict.

So far so good
