It **** when people call your number an get dead air.

I stated the number transfer on June 8th.
Verizon, my local carrier has released the number. Callers to my number now get dead air. I have been calling and calling Vonage. They keep telling me it is with Tier III support.

I don't know why they cannot tell me exactly why they cannot pick up the number that verizon released 3 days ago.

This is terrible. I cant get any incoming calls to my regular number. If verizon has released it, Vonage should pick it up right away. They have not do so in 3 days.

All you Vonage reps out here, care to explain why this would be like this? Who are these tier III people and why they can't tell me what the holdup to transfer is?

Nothing works without the commitment to customer service. Allow me to explain:

1. Verizon released the number on 7/14. Since then, I have had no incoming service.

2. Vonage told me on the 7/14 "wait 24 hours before you open a case with us". I did wait 24 hours.

3. I opened a case on 7/15. I was told wait 24 hours. I did wait.

4. I called on 7/16. Was told that Verizon has not released the number. I called Verizon. Their records showed that the number was transferred on the 14th. Who is right, Vonage or Verizon ???

6. I called Vonage back. I was told by e-mail, and by other customer care reps, on the phone to wait. I waited another 24 hours.

7. Today, the port is still incomplete. I was told today that XO has not released the number to you. I called XO just now. THEIR RECORDS SAY THAT THEY SUCCESSFULLY GOT THE NUMBER FROM VERIZON ON THE 14TH. Vonage HAS IT!!!!!!! So who is right this time? Vonage or XO?

Also, Vonage customer care rep told me that Vonage number transfer people do not work on Sundays!!! THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE???? If you are running a phone company, staff it like a phone company!!!!!!!

To summarize, I have been waiting since 7/14 to get incoming calls. Vonage's answer has been "wait 24 hours". Vonage blamed Verizon and then Vonage blamed XO. Both those companies swear up and down that Vonage has had the number since 7/14.

WHERE IS MY NUMBER AND EXACTLY WHEN WILL I GET INCOMING SERVICE???? Don't insult me by saying that you will "notify me when the issue is resolved". Tell me that Vonage takes pride in serving their customers and that my issue will be resolved by a fixed time. No 24 hours crap. Just commit to a reasonable time and resolve it by that time.

An extremely annoyed customer.

I think I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for the port since May 26. I haven't made any calls yet and thought I'd check here to see if this is common of the process. People who call me get a busy signal in my case.
