I purchased a Voip device from COMP USA on 3 April 2005 with the following rebates which have not been received as of 16 July (90 day service credit required which was paid for in advance on 7 June 2005):
$50 Vonage direct rebate (which had to be requalified because the phone number and account number are different, resent and copy to purchase store in late May 2005)
$50 CompUSA store purchase gift card promo which the store did not even know about even though it was advertised on 3 April 2005 (at the store level they did not know how to process it nor had they received any instruction other than the ad terms)
$10 CompUSA promo rebate (this was to be received in 6-8 weeks)

To date, I have contacted CompUSA which says Vonage is responsible for the $110 promotion and Vonage which has not even bothered to reply.

This is fraud and I would caution people on this and similar offers.

i understood you had to wait 90 days, then 6-8 weeks for processing, before getting rebates that required you be a customer for 3 months. it doesn't even make sense that they'd let you pre-pay (what if you cancel before the 90 days? you'd have a good argument to get your pre-paid moneys back)

rebates are never a good idea. and neither Vonage nor (probably) compusa processes rebates. these are done by third party processors. (a company like Young America, http://www.young-america.com)

I bought my router through CompUSA around the same time you did and have received both the $50 CompUSA giftcard and $10 rebate. Neither one required 90 day service. They both came within 3 weeks after I mailed in the rebates. I would think CompUSA is responible for those 2 rebates not Vonage.

Even though my 90 day wait period is over for the $50 Vonage rebate, my status online still says "Required Service Period".

Anyone know when I can expect to see my status change to "Approval" online? I'm on my 4th month of service.

Ditto here. I got the $50 gift card and $10 rebate. Still waiting on my $50 rebate. I'm stuck in the same status as you at this point.

I would suggest following up with customer care. I am in similar situation.

I signed up with Vonage and sent all the paperwork for rebate. I still have the photocopies of rebate form, UPC, sales receipt from Amazon.

My status has been "Required Service Period" for the last couple of weeks even though I have met this requirement. I sent email to customer service inquiring about it. I was told, it's been delayed. I asked again, when can I expect it. Now I got an email from customer service which addresses someone else that they sent me a non compliance letter in Jan 2005. I signed up with Vonage in 1st week of Apr 2005. It also says that I bought the service outside the promotion period, which is also wrong. I think they are lying about the rebate. Quality of phone calls is good but I believe Vonage is handling rebates totally unethically.

I bought my RT31P2 from Best Buy 02/02/2005 and have not received the $50 rebate check yet. The rebate website listed above has my status as having completed 3 of the 5 steps.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The education that you received clearly was fraudulent as you cannot perform simple addition such as 90 days + 6 to 8 weeks.

Thank you for warning us not to get the same education as you. Could you be a pal and let us know what specific schools are the ones we should avoid?
