Post subject: RT31P2 Rebooting Every 5-10 Minutes When DNS Is Down
I was just curious why the RT31P2 router reboots every 5-10 minutes when your ISP's DNS servers are down. This morning I woke up to see that my phone light was off on the router as well as me not being able to access web sites. I rebooted my cablemodem and router and everything appeared fine. Tried to get on the web and it was a no go. Tried the telephone and that worked. Typed an ip into the web browser and I was able to access a page. I determined that the DNS servers for RoadRunner were not working properly.
The problem I was having is when I try to call RR tech support to find out the situation the phone would cut off when I was on hold. Came in the house and seen that the RT31P2 was rebooting itself after 5-10 mins while watching it for a while. Is there some sorta setting to stop it from doing this when there are DNS problems?
