I am running a linksys RT31P2 with my Vonage service. I also have another SIP phone (a Mitel 5055) that is part of a network of SIP phones outside of Vonage. This phone is currently setup in the DMZ of the linksys router. This used to work; SIP messages were being forwarded to the 5055. Although messages are still being forwarded to the phone, the linksys now replies with a "404, Not Found". This behavior started some time in June. Here is the packet we get back (with IP's changed around") "SIP/2.0 404 Not Found^M To: <sip:4xx@6x.3y.zzz.qqq>;tag=a97ad748d3309d6i0^M From: "caler id" <sip:2yx@7x.1y.zzz.qqq>;tag=104bea7df4f-F-481-29-74^M Call-Id: 104bea7def0-53@x.y.z.q^M CSeq: 1 INVITE^M Via: SIP/2.0/UDP x.y.z.q:5060;branch=z9hG4bKe9jy9mn8J1o2Ejz9cp8^M Server: 001217C149B1 Linksys/RT31P2-3.1.3(LI)^M Content-Length: 0^M Is there a configurable on the router that allows it to not respond to unsolicited (or non-Vonage) SIP? Thanks, Jerome |

I dont think you really want to block SIP from either provider in the router. You need to disable port forwarding and DMZ. Then check to make sure your configuration for both clients are correct. It seems that the Linksys is getting confused as to the traffic it is getting thats why im telling you to disable port forwarding and DMZ.
If this is not what you meant to say then please specify a bit more so we can help you.
Also, Just so you know, the SIP ports are 5060,5061, and 10000.
According to your packet log, you are using 5060. |
