PostPosted: Sun Jul 10, 2005 11:47 pm    Post subject: New Subscriber - Do it Online or On the Phone? Reply with quote Back to top

Hello everyone, noob here Embarassed I would like to subscribe to Vonage and would like to know which one would be better. Sign up online or call and talk to a live rep. Would I get a better deal if I simply follow the "Special Offer" link on these forums or talk to a rep and see what I can get. Do they waive the sign up fee? What about first month?

Any help is would be appreciated.

Thanks!

IMO I would definately do it online. You won't be able to understand the folks at customer service. I did it online with no probs. Thats the way I would do it again.

Noob here as well. I had somebody refer me, which got them and me a free month of service.

I wanted the Linksys 3-port router with the built-in PA (which everyone seems to hate,) so I ordered online.

I signed up on the phone. Prior to signing up, though, I went through most of the online ordering process (without actually signing up). I realized that it sounded like all the Vonage CS rep was doing was taking information I was giving her over the phone and signing me up online, as if she were me sitting at my computer!

Were you able to get any deals say, 1st month off or waiver of the activation fee?

Hi Melencio:

As this site is paid for in part by that big coupon on the index page, we sort of frown upon the discussion of other Vonage offers.

Wow Dan. They are still indeed talking about Vonage. Maybe im wrong and if I am so be it, but do the rules state anything about other Vonage offers? If so, maybe i missed them. If they are there, please point us in the right direction. Thanks.

Your not wrong - nor am I. I am just heading off the next post that (in my experience) would violate this:

We offer the Vonage coupon as a means to offset our cost associated with operating this site. If you have found the Vonage Forum useful in your decision process to order Vonage, we would appreciate it if you would consider signing up through our link.

Likewise, we do not allow any other refer id links or links to affiliate sites.

If you have any concerns that are not addressed here, please message me via this forum.

I would much rather preempt an issue rather than having to deal with it after the fact.

It certainly is your forum and you can do whatever you want, but it seems a bit heavy-handed to openly censor discussion of any other offer.

I mean, definitely the boards are great and people should click the link and use the coupon up there to support it, but it seems a bit weak to outlaw any talk of any other offer, IMHO.
