I have had this problem all week. I honestly think it is an internet problem some how, but adelphia swears it has to be the router.
OK,
For instance I get on my computer today, but can't do anything on the internet, the modem and the router shows that I am connected. I pick up the phone and it works. BUT if I reboot the modem and the router, the router WILL NOT CONNECT for nothing. The phone light WILL NOT COME ON. But, if I remove the router and just connect through the modem (motorolla sb5120) it will connect.. I have to restart the modem a few times in order for it to sync..
When trying to hook up the rouer I AM waiting for the modem to sync before pluggin it in..

when my phone was working earlier I called adelphia, told the guy what was going on and he tells me it has to be the router, tells me if the modems ONLINE light is on that it is connected.. And tells me that it shows that I have been connected for 18 hours..

I then call Vonage and tell them about everything.. I explain to the guy that if I reboot the modem and the router that my phone won't work anymore, cause I know that the router won't connect.. He has me check under TCP/IP properties to see if "automatically obtain ip address & Dns Server" is checked, and it was.
He then had me go to Command prompt and try to /release and /renew my ip with ipconfig..
then he had me see if i could do anything on the internet, I still couldn't.. So, finally he tells me to press the RESET button on the back of the router and then to restart the modem and the router, and if that didn't work for me to go to the Router config page and go to ADMINISTRATOR and he gave me a USER NAME and PASSWORD to Set the router back to factory defaults and then reboot them, he said that should get me to connect cause that also resets the voice part of the router.. but of course that didn't work either. He was suppose to call me back, I gave him my e-mail address cause I KNEW it wasn't going to connect.. but i never heard from him again.

This router is only about 2 wks old, I just had it replaced through Vonage cause the other router went bad..
I am clueless, i dont know what it is..
Adelphia keeps telling me that it has to be the router, that they don't support routers.. And Vonage hasn't told me anything.. The way the guy that I was talking to that had me reset the router acted as if that was the last thing he knew to have me do..
When this happens it is like that ALL DAY.. Like Wednesday, the same thing happend where the internet didn't work, but the phone did, so I then restart the modem and router and the router would not connect. It was like that all day, it was still like that when I went to bed, I woke up at 6am, it still wouldn't connect, So I leave the modem and the router hooked up I leave, come back around 11am and the router was connected.. I reboot the modem and the router to see if it will connect and it connects right up, 3 times in a row.. and then later in the day it happens again.

If anyone could PLEASE give me some advice I would really appreciate it. It is really starting to get to me.
