I dialed both of those numbers the first one went to a fax machine, the second one went to a number that could not connect. Any calls made to 800 numbers on the Vonage system do not take away from your minutes, no matter what plabn you are on. All calls to Vonage, Vonage customer's , toll free line's are added up on your account but listed as free minutes,.. |

I too have encountered over 400 minutes worth of 800 and 866 numbers posted to my Vonage account in the last 2 weeks! These calls started on July 4 and have continued every hour since then. Always the same two numbers. Has anyone found the cause? I have DirecTV, but I question this connection only because I have been a customer of DirecTV for 4 years and Vonage for over 2 years and have not seen these 800 numbers posted before July 4, 2005. Any further information is appreciated. |

After one hour on the phone with DirecTV and going through 3 tiers of their support ladder we finally have some answers. UltimateTV receivers stopped being produced / sold over 3 years ago, and evidently are now old enough that some problems are showing up. The dialing they are doing is limited to the use of the web surfing / email features, so DirecTV recommended we just unplug the phone jack. As a side note, DirecTV offered a good deal on an upgrade to their currently supported hardware as well (which was a fair offer). |
