Post subject: New to Vonage: router question
I'm new to Vonage...the Linksys RT31P2 is on the way.
My configuration is such:
Earthlink Broadband via Time-Warner
Toshiba PCX2600 Cable Modem
Linksys BEFSR41 v.2 Router
The plan was to put the Linksys RT31P2 in the bedroom, where I've got Cat 5 run to from the router. Is it a bad idea and will I get poor performance by connecting the
Vonage
router/adapter to another router?
Trying to head off a poor out of box experience. Thanks in advance!

you might if you use your internet connection a lot while on the phone. the other option is to get a router that features qos (i.e. linksys wrt54g) or to have the rt31p2 in front of the befs (directly connected to the cable modem)

Thanks John for the reply.
The v.2 befs is over 3 years old, so I'm not above spending a few bucks on a new router to get the qos features I've heard so much about.
I think for now, I'll try it direct to the cable modem, then hook the router to one of the ports on the rt31p2, as you suggested.
