Hello all
I was wondering if anyone else uses msn messenger voice with vt1005v? I cant get msn messenger voice to work with vt1005v. If I unplug the vt1005v and plug my cable modem back into the pc the msn messenger voice will work. But when I plug the cable modem back into the vt1005v the msn messenger voice will not work. All I have is my cable modem that goes to the vt1005v and then to my pc. I have talked to Vonage about this and they said they are working with Motorola to fix this. If anyone has any info and could help. Thank you for your time and help. |

I have the same problem. I was trying to find a way to forward a range of ports from the VT1005v but the Motorola configuration only allows specific port forwarding.
The problem with MSN voice is that it uses a different port every time you want to voice chat with it and for that a new port has to opened and MOTOROLA VT1005vt needs to forward that port. |

I agree either a switch or a router and that will fix your problem. Off of my cable modem I have a wireless g router. Connected to it via Cat 5 is my ATA. The rest of the house computers (5 total) all use wireless adapters to connect to the internet. from any machine I can VPN, MSN messenger/voice, telnet, ftp, kazaa etc... without any problems. |

I already have a modem and a voice terminal plugged in, i dont want another gadget to add to those.
Everything works fine for me such as FTP and other applications as i have forwarded the respective ports from the Motorola VT1005v GUI settings. The problem with MSN voice is that it opens a different port everytime and Motorola doesnt have the "range" port forwarding option. |
