I wanted to change my PAP2 ATA to a static IP address. I accessed the voice menu using a telephone connected to it, but after changing the IP address to static and setting it to the address I wanted, I just get a fast busy on my phone. I rebooted the router and ATA, but it still does not appear to connect to the router.
Is there something I need to do on the router to have it recognized?
Thanks,

Did you originally have your router setup to forward the port? If so and you've now statically assigned your IP address you may need to go into your router setup and forward the appropriate ports to the new static IP address. |

If its a Linksys router you need to set up Static Routing, which is usually under Advanced Routing ... See your manual for more info. |

Thanks for the info. I was not aware of that. I tried setting it up, but when I checked the subnet mask on the PAP2 it kept saying that it was set to 0.0.0.0. I tried changing it to the correct number and hitting save, but it always went back to 0.0.0.0.
I will try again tomorrow - the family is mad that I am playing with the phone again.

Now I noticed that the PAP2 is not saving any of the numbers I input. I disabled DHCP and then tried to change the IP address to one that is outside the range of what the router is assigning. I save it, I then have it read it back to me and it matches what I input. Once I exit that menu option and have it read me the IP address by hitting 110# it reads back the old IP address.
It is doing the same thing for the subnet mask.
I'm not sure why it is doing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

that happened to me also.
Try setting each one then turning the phone off after you set each number..worked that way. |

You may need Static Routing set up for the subnet to work properly. |
