Hi guys, Hope someone can help here, just got the RT31P2 today and for the life of me cannot get the phone detected whatsoever, What I have done so far.. Converted all routing to static (Voip Router (Linksys RT31P2-VU) now 192.168.1.3 whereas the Gateway (Linksys BEFDSR41W) is 192.168.1.1) forwarded a load of UDP ports to 192.168.1.3 from the gateway # SIP ports 5060 through 5061 using UDP protocol # NTP port 123 using UDP protocol # TFTP port 69 using UDP protocol # DNS port 53 using UDP protocol # RTP ports 10,000 through 20,000 using UDP protocol connected the RJ11 adapter to the phone (BT Decor 100) and powered up everything routing works as now my comp is hooked via the Voip Router and sees the internet perfectly (I had to hook the Voip Rout to the Gateway Via Ethernet Ports as it has a built in modem and nothing would work if I connected it to the Internet port) Tried putting a microfilter onto the phone, and even tried a different phone (Cable and Wireless) and that wouldn't pick up either.. all other connections are removed such as wireless equipment and extra comps.. Help |

Hmmm!
my rt31p2 adaptor is set to obtain an ip automatically and thats connected to my BT Voyager 2100 modem router
bt voyager ---------------- lynksys rt3 -------------------computer 192.168.1.1 -------------- 192.168.1.2---------------- 192.168.15.100
everythings works fine
i didnt have to go in and change settings port settings and set static ip's
does your phone light 1 or 2 light up at all?
you should call Vonage customer service they helped me with my set up i found them very helpful

Got it fixed, it required the BEFDSR41W to be put into 'Bridged' Mode with NAT disabled which is hooked to the internet port of the RT31P2 in PPPoE mode, I also found out that the BT Décor phone is Incompatible with the RT32P2 and have replaced it with a Cable & Wireless CWT2000.
alls well that ends well |
